PISCATAWAY — Less than two hours after he learned that he would be suspended for the next three games, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood delivered a message to a group of players as they prepare for Saturday's Big Ten opener against Penn State.
Flood told players that the way to quiet all of the program's critics is to beat Penn State on Saturday, according to a person with knowledge of the meeting that took place early Wednesday evening after the coach was suspended for three games and fined $50,000 for making improper contact with a faculty member regarding a player's grades.
