Rutgers senior Anthony Ashnault scored a dominating victory on Sunday, one he called the second-best in his career behind his first state title as a freshman at South Plainfield.
Ashnault, ranked No. 2 in the country at 149 pounds, won by a 10-2 major decision over Princeton's No. 1 Matt Kolodzik. The bonus-point victory propelled Rutgers to a 19-18 win over its in-state rival.
Ashnault will ascend to No. 1 in the country and should be the favorite to win Rutgers' first individual wrestling title when he heads to Pittsburgh for the NCAA championships in March.
