One by one, Rutgers' players will report back to the Hale Center for the start of preseason camp Thursday. They will receive the practice schedule, grab their playbooks and then gather in the meeting room for Chris Ash's pre-training camp address.
But there's a funny thing about Ash's opening message. It was actually delivered last fall.
Days after the Scarlet Knights concluded a 4-8 campaign with a 40-7 home loss to Michigan State, Ash set the tone for what will be his third season on the banks.
"The first message started back in December,'' Ash said.
