The long awaited plan to upgrade Rutgers' athletics facilities has finally been released. The university's Board of Governors on Thursday approved a university-wide physical master plan that includes major athletic upgrades.
The most significant plans call for a renovated Hale Center to become the exclusive home of the football team and the construction of a multi-use facility that will serve as a practice facility for the men's and women's basketball teams.
The plan is short on two major details: How much will the upgrades cost and when will they be completed? Those answers will be dictated largely by the athletic department's fundraising, which will begin in earnest now that the plan has been released.
