Todd Frazier is in his eighth Major League Baseball season. Patrick Kivlehan played at the MLB level in each of the past two seasons.
Both starred at Rutgers, but left a few years apart and had never played together in the same game.
Until Friday night, that is.
Frazier, the New York Mets third baseman who was playing in a rehab-assignment following a disabled-list stint with an injured hamstring, batted second and started at third base for the Las Vegas 51s in a Triple-A minor league game.
Kivlehan, in his fourth week in the Mets' organization after getting released by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this year, batted fourth and started in right field.
