Three-point line proves costly as No. 25 Rutgers falls to No. 15 Iowa 79-66

Sometimes it is as simple as one team makes shots and the other does not.

This is exactly what happened on Wednesday night as No. 25 Rutgers was handled by No. 15 Iowa 79-66 at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.

Iowa was able to dominate this game in two areas — the three-point line and foul line. The Scarlet Knights finished 6-28 from three-point territory in this one. The Scarlet Knights were unable to convert on many open shots while the Hawkeyes knocked down 11 three’s to take control, led by Joe Wieskamp. The junior led the way with 26 points on 9-14 from the field, including five makes from beyond the arc.
