BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP Sometimes Eric LeGrand thinks about how, under a different set of circumstances, he could be playing his fourth season in the NFL right now.
And then a story like the one he heard Thursday night — about a 10-year-old girl who wrote about him for a school assignment on heroes — inevitably reminds LeGrand of his unique place in the world.
“I see stuff like that and it’s like, ‘Wow, this is what my purpose is. This is my role,’” LeGrand said. “I’m helping out a little girl who might have no idea who I am if I was in the NFL.
