Rutgers wrestling ran into a different animal Friday night.
It was a Nittany Lion.
Coming off an impressive victory against No. 12 Illinois, No. 11 Rutgers won only two of 10 bouts against No. 2 Penn State and fell 37-6 in front of a sellout crowd in State College.
The lopsided score was the result of four technical falls and two pins.
Rutgers' two victories came back-to-back as Anthony Ashnault's 4-1 decision at 141 pounds was preceded by his former South Plainfield High School teammate Scott DelVecchio's 11-4 victory at 133. At the time, Rutgers led 6-4.
