Apparently, committing to Rutgers as preferred walk-on specialist could earn you a call from the governor. Or, at least, one South Jersey kicker recently received that honor.
Tuesday, Absegami's (Galloway, N.J.) Zach Sterr revealed his intentions to walk-on at Rutgers which prompted the governor to reach out and congratulate him on his past, present and future conquests.
"Apparently, the governor called my athletic director at Absegami and he put him in contact with me," Sterr told NJ.com. "And we were able to talk very briefly, just a couple of minutes."
