PISCATAWAY - Eric LeGrand surpassed his goal of raising $100,000 in a single "A Walk to Believe" fundraiser today. When the tally was complete, there were 1,200 participants who helped raise $120,000 for the 5K walk/run/roll, according to Anna Chamberlain, coordinator of marketing and communications for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
LeGrand, who suffered a paralyzing injury while making a tackle in a 2010 Rutgers football game, has been a voice for spinal cord research ever since. This year LeGrand brought some friends he has met who have had similar injuries themselves.
