PISCATAWAY – At the risk of being the ultimate buzzkill, Paul James decided to stop biting his tongue.
Surrounded by Rutgers teammates who had just finished steamrolling North Carolina in the Quick Lane Bowl to cap a surprising inaugural Big Ten season with eight wins, the star running back saw an opening for the kind of contribution he longed to make during the first three months he spent sidelined by a torn ACL.
“We had eight wins and a lot of people thought that was something to fight for,” James said. “I want 10 wins a season, so it’s kind of a higher goal.
