PISCATAWAY – Being told to get a facelift only nine months after undergoing a makeover could make any client scream … only this particular one can’t even talk.
The Rutgers University Student Assembly recently passed a bill calling for more gender and ethnic diversity in the Scarlet Knight mascot by adding multiple new-look costumes.
The story first was reported by The Daily Targum student newspaper but has gained traction and was featured Wednesday night on ABC’s Eyewitness News.
“What we were thinking – the way the bill’s laid out – it’s not defined that we need an Asian knight, a black knight, a Latino knight,” student assembly parliamentarian Emmet Brennan told The Targum.
