Safety Kiy Hester looking to 'bring back that nasty Rutgers defense'

Kiy Hester wasn't shy when asked what he wants this season.

"To bring back that nasty Rutgers defense," the redshirt junior safety said. "That stingy defense that creates turnovers, makes big plays, gets stops on third downs and get that ball back to the offense. We've got to play fast. And we've got to be nasty as a whole on defense. That's got to be the mindset."

Hester called last season's 2-10 season "a humbling experience." Following wins over Howard and New Mexico to move to 2-1 on the year, Rutgers ended the year on a 9-game losing streak which included blowout, shutout losses to Big Ten rivals Ohio State (58-0), Michigan (78-0), Michigan State (49-0) and Penn State (39-0).
