The NCAA Championships seeding and brackets were announced on Wednesday night and Rutgers earned three top 10 seeds for the first time ever under head coach Scott Goodale. That’s a pretty remarkable achievement considering Rutgers was without returning national champion Nick Suriano and last year’s national qualifier at 133 pounds, Sammy Alvarez, was scratched from postseason consideration. Goodale continues to take this program to places that were not deemed possible when he took over more than a decade ago.
The Scarlet Knights will have five wrestlers at nationals for the seventh consecutive season. They earned three earned automatic bids and two earned at-large bids after their performances at the Big Ten Championships last weekend.
