Sophomore Nick Suriano has ascended to the top spot in his weight class according to two of the three major ranking services. The former Bergen Catholic star moved up to No. 1 in the Intermat and FloWrestling rankings on Tuesday after Ohio State's Nathan Tomasello, the previous No. 1, was upset by Iowa's Spencer Lee on Sunday in a dual meet.
There was some question if Lehigh's Darian Cruz, who won the 125-pound national title last year but has been ranked behind Suriano this season, could potentially leapfrog the Paramus native.
