Thursday Night, Rutgers Women’s Soccer forward Amirah Ali was selected by the United Soccer Coaches as a Second Team All-American. The biggest impact Ali had was in the extra session, she netted four golden goals out of the Scarlet Knights’ program record six OT victories. Those gutty wins propelled Rutgers to a second place Big Ten finish.
Already this offseason, the sophomore Ali (Voorhees, NJ) has been named First Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Tournament Team for the 2018 campaign. The recognition was well deserved as Ali paced the Big Ten in total goals with ten (five game-winning) and finished second in total points with twenty-three.
