Rutgers women’s soccer beats FDU to advancea in NCAA Tournament

PISCATAWAY – The Rutgers women’s soccer team beat its first NCAA Tournament opponent by beating the clock.

Senior forward Rachel Cole scored off a left-footed assist from Tori Prager with four seconds remaining in the first half Friday night to lift No. 2 seed Rutgers to 1-0 victory against Fairleigh Dickinson at Yurcak Field.

Rutgers improved to 17-3-2, setting a single-season program record for victories and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four years.
