College football coaches like to use clichés and offer verbal bouquets for the opposing team on a weekly basis.

But there’s something about Texas State that clearly has Chris Ash’s attention.

“It's a very good football team in my opinion,’’ the Rutgers coach said of the Scarlet Knights’ season-opening opponent.

“Their record wasn't great last year but they are building their program similar to what we are. I know Everett Withers is a very good football coach.’’
