For only the third time in program history, Rutgers will be retiring a women’s basketball number.
On December 1, Cappie Pondexter’s No. 25 will be hoisted top the rafters at the RAC. The first player in BIG EAST history to earn first team honors four-straight years, Pondexter recorded 2,211 points during her career to rank second all-time at RU.
Pondexter joins June Olkowski (1978-82) and Sue Wicks (1984-88) as the only women basketball players to have their numbers retired.
