In what has been a rocky start to the season off the field for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the team will be without their head coach for several weeks following an investigation by the school:
Rutgers has suspended Kyle Flood three games, and fined him $50,000, following an investigation by the school into rules violations.
The school had been investigating an email Flood sent from a personal email account to a faculty member regarding the status of cornerback Nadir Barnwell. The email was about the academic eligibility of Barnwell.
While the contents of the email are unknown, Rutgers has a policy prohibiting coaches from contacting instructors directly.
