A former romantic partner says that the Rutgers football star Leonte Carroo slammed her into the concrete ground when he intervened in a confrontation between her and his current girlfriend, according to an interview she granted The Record of Bergen County.
Carroo was arrested and charged with simple assault under domestic violence as a result of the altercation that took place Saturday night, outside the Hale Center after a football game. He plead not guilty and is scheduled to appear in Piscataway muncipal court on Oct. 1.
The woman, 20, also obtained a restraining order against Carroo, the report said.
