PISCATAWAY — Josh Hicks was Rutgers' most productive running back through the first four games of the season, averaging 6.0 yards per carry and scoring four touchdowns.
Without any obvious reason, Hicks hit a slump for a three-game stretch, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry entering last Saturday's game against Wisconsin. Hicks rediscovered his mojo against the Badgers, leading Rutgers with 15 carries for 72 yards.
Hicks did most of his damage on his first drive, when he carried the ball on seven straight plays. He totaled 46 yards on nine carries on a drive that ended in a field goal.
