The athletes of Rutgers traded in their uniforms for formal wear on Tuesday as the university held its fourth annual R Awards, which celebrate the best performances on the playing field, in the classroom and in the community.
On the red carpet (actually it was white) the collegians showed their style as they arrived for the event. Front and center were swimmer Abbey Saunders and soccer player Aaron Aclooque, who took the prizes for "best dressed."
Inside the event, the top two awards were handed out to women's soccer goalie Casey Murphy and men's lacrosse defender Michael Rexrode.
