Mike Maietti started nine games in 2017 for Rutgers, but by the end of spring practice, he appeared to be on the outside looking in as the Scarlet Knights worked to set their five-man lineup.
The Don Bosco Prep product kept working, though, and won a starting job at center in training camp. Now he's been one of the few constants in the trenches for Rutgers this fall, starting each game despite injuries all around him.
