Rutgers Practice Report: Former offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen visits

PISCATAWAY — Ralph Friedgen was back in his usual perch about 10 yards behind the offense during Rutgers' practice on Tuesday morning.

But unlike last year, when Friedgen was commanding things as the offensive coordinator, the 68-year-old was mostly an observer on Tuesday. Friedgen stepped down in February after one season as Rutgers' offensive coordinator.

The 45-year coaching veteran is now in an advisory role to head coach Kyle Flood. Friedgen returned to Piscataway on Monday for the first time this spring and he'll be on campus for the rest of the week.
