BEDMINSTER — Rutgers' $1.25 million renovated weight room was scheduled to be ready when players returned to campus for summer workouts on June 1. But some unexpected structural issues have delayed the construction.
The delay has not been a setback to the team's summer workouts, however. Strength coach Kenny Parker has made a temporary weight room under the bleachers in the south end zone of High Point Solutions Stadium his home for the past month.
"Our players have continued to change their bodies this summer. They've been working extremely hard," coach Chris Ash said at his golf tournament on Monday that raised $100,000 for charity.
