The line has since fallen to 14.5 points. Both the Spartans and Scarlet Knights are 2-7 overall, and winless in Big Ten play. The Spartans are coming off a 31-27 loss to Illinois, their seventh straight loss since defeating then #18 Notre Dame 36-28 on September 18th. Looking solely at the stats it is difficult to see how the Spartans lost as they outgained Illinois in total offense 490-304 and dominated time of possession 41:36 to 18:24.
