With the early signing period now in place and schools solidifying the majority of their 2018 class, coaches can shift much of their focus to the class of 2019. Rutgers has hit the recruiting trail running, issuing offers both in and out of state, looking to get a head start on next year's haul.
One such prospect to earn an offer is West Orange (N.J.) defensive lineman Bryce Nelms, a 6-5, 255-pounder, who transferred to the school last summer from Langston Hughes high in Fairburn, Ga. Nelms and his family moved to New Jersey to be closer to his grandmother who is a cancer survivor, and he's just now seeing his recruitment begin to take of in the Garden State.
