Wednesday, Rutgers turned its attention to Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wa.) football in offering Sam Adams, a 6-2, 200-pound three-star junior running back, and son of former NFL great Sam Adams.
Sam Sr. is a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro, two-time AFC champion, Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens and was voted Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2002 by the Former Players Association. He was also a high school and college football All-American.
But, unlike his dad, who devoured running backs in his dad, Sam Sr. totes the rock. He claims no ties to New Jersey nor Rutgers, but is familiar with the program from his days living in Maryland, while his father played for the Ravens.
