Friday, Rutgers extended an offer to a long, athletic in-state receiver with a penchant for making big plays in between the lines.
A reclassified junior, Marlyn Johnson transferred to Peddie (Hightstown, N.J.) this past season from Wissahickon high in Ambler, Pa. And he's since had his scent picked up by multiple programs throughout the region, with Rutgers being the latest.
"They started recruiting me in the beginning of football season. My coach (Chris Malleo), he recommended me to them. And they started talking to me more and having me come on game visits and stuff like that," the 6-4, 198-pound Johnson said.
