UConn's Rhett Lashlee will be hired at SMU, as first reported by 247Sports and confirmed by multiple outlets.
Lashlee is one of the candidates who interviewed with Rutgers coach Chris Ash, sources told NJ Advance Media last week. Lashlee's name was at one point but cooled off.
Ash has been deliberate with his search as tries to secure a coordinator who will provide stability to a position that has been a revolving door under the last three head coaches.
