Rutgers' Nick Suriano says his 'head is high' after NCAA final loss: 'I got beat tonight'

CLEVELAND -- They wrestled for seven minutes. They stood next to each other on the podium, one standing a bit higher than the other.

Then, away from the capacity crowd at the 2018 NCAA Championships, they shared one last moment together - for now.

"You're a warrior," Spencer Lee, Iowa's 125-pound national champion, told Rutgers' Nick Suriano, the national runner-up. "We'll battle a lot."

"I appreciate you, bro," Suriano said, shaking Lee's hand. "Congrats. Fair and square. Congrats."

Suriano fell short of history Saturday night at Quicken Loans Arena, dropping a 5-1 decision to Lee in the national final.
