CLEVELAND -- Nick Suriano and Rutgers wrestling are on the cusp of unprecedented history.
Suriano became the first Scarlet Knight to reach a national final with a 2-0 victory over Lehigh's Darian Cruz, the reigning champion, in the 125-pound semifinal round of the 2018 NCAA Championship on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
Suriano, the 15th All-American in program history and its sixth semifinalist, advances to Saturday night's national final. If the sophomore wins it, he will be Rutgers' first individual NCAA champion since fencer Alexis Jemal won the national sabre title in 2003.
