CLEVELAND -- Nick Suriano's dream, and Rutgers', has been deferred.
Suriano lost to Iowa's heralded freshman Spencer Lee, 5-1, in the 125-pound final of the 2018 NCAA Championships, falling just short of becoming the Scarlet Knights' first-ever national wrestling champion on Saturday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
It was a historic weekend for Suriano, the state university's first-ever national finalist, and Rutgers, which still has a chance to finish in the top-10 of the team race for the first time. But it ended shy of an NCAA title.
