Rutgers men’s track and field’s associate head coach, Bob Farrell, was named the 2019 Mid Atlantic Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association last Friday. Farrell is in his seventh season with the program and coaches athletes competing in jumps, throws, and multiple events. This past spring, he oversaw two Big Ten medalists, 10 Big Ten podium finishers, and seven NCAA Regional qualifiers. This is the second time Farrell has earned this award, also winning it in 2015.
He’ll head to Austin, Texas this coming weekend for the Outdoor NCAA Championships, as three-time Big Ten champion and three-time All-American Chris Mirabelli will compete in the javelin for the last time in his collegiate career.
