The Rutgers men's lacrosse team beat Johns Hopkins during the regular season and then duplicated that feat by knocking out the Blue Jays from the Big Ten Tournament in a semifinals triumph last week.
Johns Hopkins, owner of an 8-6 record, got into the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid.
Rutgers did not.
After falling in the Big Ten Tournament final Saturday night, the Scarlet Knights' resume looked like this: an 11-5 record, a second-place finish in the Big Ten regular season and a runner-up showing in the conference tournament.
