PISCATAWAY – It’s time to dust off the shovels in the Rutgers athletics storage sheds.
Athletics director Julie Hermann told Gannett New Jersey that Rutgers has fundraised the money necessary to move forward with construction of the Fred Hill Training Complex, a fully privately financed indoor facility for baseball and softball that is estimated to cost $3.3 million.
“We’re so indebted to our supporters because they have accomplished this for us,” said Hermann, who still is hoping to keep the total bill “closer to” $3 million. “This is the first time in a long, long time that they have helped us accomplish a key goal to provide a state-of-the-art training space for our students.
