The last few months surrounding Rutgers athletics have been chock full of news, and our weekly mailbags have been sporadic to say the least. The one question I've received the most on Twitter and through emails has fans seeking an update on the $25 million in tax credits that are earmarked for the Rutgers athletics facilities plan.
The bill (S2880) — sponsored by state Sen. Raymond Lesniak (D-Union) in May through the Senate Economic Growth Committee he chairs — would provide up to $25 million in tax credits currently available under the Economic Redevelopment and Growth Grant Program to Rutgers for its multi-phase athletics facilities development.
