This was Johnathan Lewis' idea.
The sophomore confirmed Tuesday he approached head coach Chris Ash and offered to shift from quarterback to tight end in an effort to get on the field and do what he can to help the Scarlet Knights on game days.
"It's fun. I did it to play, any way to help out the team," Lewis said. "I wanted to help out the team. I was talking to coach Ash to see any ways I could help out, and I asked him if I could play tight end. He still wanted me to be a quarterback and said I still have an opportunity to help out that way.
