Temple's Umme Salim-Beasley is expected to be named Rutgers' new women's gymnastics coach on Friday, a person with knowledge of the hire told NJ Advance Media.
Salim-Beasley, a former Rutgers assistant replaces Louis Levine, who was dismissed in April after seven seasons leading the program. She was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Rutgers for four seasons before becoming Temple's coach in April 2015. Salim-Beasley was named ECAC Coach of the Year this past season after the Owls posted their two best team scores in school history and was EAGL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2014 while at Rutgers.
