PISCATAWAY – Eddie Jordan said he was bothered more by the effort than the outcome after the Rutgers men’s basketball team suffered a 34-point loss Saturday to Nebraska.
In fairness, however, the third-year coach didn’t know these numbers when he made that statement: Nebraska’s 90-56 win represented its biggest on the road since Feb. 25, 1920 and Rutgers’ biggest home loss since Dec. 6, 1961, 16 years before the Rutgers Athletic Center opened.
“After a while, you don’t play to the score or the time when you are down so much,” Jordan said.
