PISCATAWAY – Both sides of ball were significantly short-handed Saturday during the second Rutgers football scrimmage.
Eighteen players did not play in the scrimmage as they were listed on the official injury reported released by Rutgers prior to the primetime kickoff at High Point Solutions Stadium.
With Hayden Rettig and Chris Laviano battling to be the starting quarterback, the offense played without three of its top five running backs, including Josh Hicks and Robert Martin.
Desmon Peoples has been sidelined since training camp began.
