The Rutgers field hockey team played on back to back days to open its 2019 campaign and delivered commanding victories in both contests. On Friday, the no. 19 Scarlet Knights defeated no. 24 Maine 3-0 and followed that up with a 4-1 win over Ball State on Saturday.
Redshirt senior Austyn Cuneo led the way, scoring two goals and adding an assist against Maine before scoring another goal against Ball State. Redshirt junior Katie Larmour, back after missing all but one game last season due to injury, scored two goals in the victory over Ball State.
