Rutgers dismisses gymnastics coach Louis Levine

Rutgers is on the market for a new gymnastics coach after athletics director Pat Hobbs announced Tuesday a change in leadership in the program.

In a statement released by the athletics department, Hobbs said he was "deeply appreciative'' of the contributions of Louis Levine but decided to "seek new leadership'' following the Scarlet Knights season.

Hobbs said current assistant Anne Meade will take over as head coach on an interim basis and a national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.

A Maplewood native who attended Columbia High School, Levine took over as the Rutgers women's gymnastics coach in May 2011 after three years as an assistant coach with the program.
