Missing all but one game last season apparently hasn't impacted Darius Hamilton's reputation as one of the nation's best defensive players.
The Rutgers senior defensive tackle on Tuesday was named to the preseason Bednarik Award Watch List. Named in honor of Chuck Bednarik, who is both a College Football Hall of Fame (class of 1969) and the NFL Hall of Fame (class of 1967) inductee, the Bednarik Award has been presented to the College Defensive Player of the Year since 1995.
Hamilton is one of 90 players on the list, which was announced Tuesday by the Maxwell Football Club.
