Rutgers credit card fraud charges: How Scarlet Knights are adjusting on defense, and who must step up

The ongoing investigation into alleged credit card fraud by Rutgers football players reach a milestone point Wednesday when NJ Advance Media reported eight current or former players have been charged after stealing about $11,000, according to authorities.

Four of the players - Brendan DeVera, K.J. Gray, Edwin Lopez and Syhiem Simmons - have already been dismissed or have left the program as transfers. The remaining four - Malik Dixon, Naijee Jones, Kobe Marfo and C.J. Onyechi - remain on indefinite suspension pending their scheduled Sept. 13 court date.

All eight are defensive players.
