Rutgers community reacts to arrests, suspensions coming out of football team

The day before Rutgers season-opening kickoff came and went with no penalty handed down for the football coach.

But there was plenty of reaction to recent to Thursday’s arrest of five players — from Rutgers president Robert Barchi, Rutgers-New Brunswick chancellor Dick Edwards, Rutgers students and Tejay Johnson’s lawyer to name a few.

Plus, Gannett New Jersey’s two sports columnists, Jerry Carino and Steve Edelson, both weighed in with their latest takes.
