ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Rutgers defensive coordinator Joe Rossi represents something very rare for a coordinator on Kyle Flood's staff: Continuity.
In Flood's four seasons at the helm, he's had four different offensive coordinators. Defensive coordinator was a similar revolving door in Flood's first three years, but he retained Rossi after the 2014 season.
"Joe gives us continuity along with our staff," Flood said Wednesday on his weekly radio show. "This is the most continuity this year that we've had as a staff. We're seeing some of the benefits of that in practice, we're seeing some of the benefits in games — we're going to see more, I believe, as we go through the rest of the season we're going to see more of it — but we're also seeing the benefits of it in recruiting.
