Rick Mantz, who enjoyed success as the head football coach at Hillsborough and South Brunswick, will be hired as the high school relations director of the Rutgers University football program, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media on Sunday.
The position is a new post created by Rutgers coach Chris Ash, and Mantz — who is highly respected in New Jersey coaching circles — figures to be a strong liaison to the state's scholastic football community.
It's a separate position from recruiting coordinator, which has been filled by E.J. Barthel for the past year.
