From the time he arrived on the Rutgers campus three years ago, Christopher Mirabelli had his sights on accomplishing big goals as a javelin thrower.
Take first place in the Pan American Junior Championships? Check. Win the Penn Relays? Check. Earn gold at the Big Ten Championships? He's actually accomplished that feat twice.
The Rutgers junior has a long-term goal of reaching the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
But first there's the matter of the next goal on the list, an NCAA Championship that would prove to be a historic feat for both the Rutgers men's track and field program and for Rutgers Athletics as a whole.
